TISSUE PAPER ART

Ages 3+ (parental supervision required)

Ingredients:

  • Chubby Paintbrushes
  • Liquid Glue
  • Variety of Colored Tissue Paper (ripped up into small pieces in advance)
  • Construction Paper

Recipe for Fun!

STEP 1: Depending upon the age of the artist, help them draw a large design on the construction paper.

STEP 2: Lay out the ripped pieces of tissue paper onto the design drawn on the construction paper.

STEP 3: Add water to the liquid glue – approximately ¾ glue and ¼ water and mix with a paintbrush.
Tip: Too much water may rip the paper so add a little at a time. If the glue feels too watery, add a little more glue and mix.

STEP 4: Demonstrate how to lay one piece of tissue paper on the design and “paint” over it with the glue/water solution.

STEP 5: Call out how the colors change as more layers are added.

STEP 6: Let the project design dry completely.

STEP 7: Once dry, cut out the design.

STEP 8: Decorate or gift to a friend or family member.
