Recipe for Fun!

Watch out for the quicksand! Lay two even trails of pillows (or towels or newspaper – 5 or more per trail) on the floor. These are the “stepping stones” the children need to land on to avoid falling into the quicksand (the floor)! The pillows should be at least a foot apart from each other (more or less, depending upon the children’s ages) and the 2 trails should be far enough apart that the children don’t run into each other. Form two teams. Each child takes a turn jumping from stepping stone to stepping stone. Any child who touches the floor gets sucked down into the mire (actually, they just need to start from the beginning of the trail again). See which team makes it to the end of the trail first. That team wins.
